Pangaea Africa

Global "A" Connection

Protecting cultural diversity has become as important a fight as preserving biodiversity. Many countries are hard press to cope with the deadening and harmonizating impacts of economic globalization. For most people particularly indigenous peoples, view culture as ther richest heritage, without which they have no roots, history or soul. Its value is other than monetary. To commodify it is to destroy it.

Nations must be tolerant and allow difference of opinion this leads to investigation and investigation leads to truth. "In his argument Thomas Jeffeson stated that " If a nation expects to be ignorant and free ... it expects what never was and never will be."As individuals and as a nation, it is imperative that we consider the opinions of others and examine them with skill and discerment.

To prevent the homogenization of world culture, international agreements must be drawn to protect local culture. Around the world corporation culture is destroying local tradition, knowledge, skills, artisans and values. Global fashion has wiped our the trade mechanism of Artisans groups trying to sell their products. This is much more of an economic problem, Nawal Hassan, an Egyptian artisan-activist, stated  "This is an issue of identity". All our civilization has ceased to be spiritual. Our civilization has become commercial.

With each endangered craft are centuries of songs, expressions and lifetyles that are part of an artisan's creative environment..Decline of artisanship may be consuming some of the world's cultural diversity.Combined with the destruction of the habitat of aborigianal citizens in many parts of the world, this assult on local cultures is having profound impact.

There is a growing sentiment in many parts of the world that culture is not just

another product like steel or computer parts.Through funding programs content

regulations andf other public policies, countries have encouraged their own artists and cultures and tried to maintain some space their intellectual creations.

.Vicious circle of war:

History proves that dictatorships do not grow out of strong and successful governments, but out of a weak and helpless ones. If by democratic methods people get a government strong and stable that protects its people from all forms of abuse, fear, injustice, illiteracy and starvation, their democracy becomes a success: but if they do not, people grow impatient and frustrated. Therefore, the only sure bulwark of continuing liberty is a government strong enough to protect the interests of the people, and a people strong enough and well informed to maintain its sovereign control over its government.

Contemplation about Beauty:

Beauty is truth, truth beauty," -that is all

You know on earth, and all you need to know.

In every man's heart there is a secret nerve that

answers to the vibrations of beauty.

God scatters beauty as he scatters flowers

O'er the wide earth, and tells us all are ours.

A hundred lights in every temple burn,

And at each Mosque I bend my knee in

submission to the will of God.

The mountains are God's majestic thoughts.

The stars are God's brilliant thoughts.

The flowers are God's beautiful thoughts.

And you  call them not civilized, Why? because they don't represent the bikini beach culture of civilization. A picture without message is like a poet without poetry, or a painter without a brush. The pleasure of sharing familiar customs, ease of conversing in one 's own tongue, adaptation to natural habitat and the joy of sharing  and enhancing natural beauty, body painting, scarification are part of an advance socialization process in tribal Africa.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

Representing natural beauty, elegence and grace. (Nature vs Nature).

Symbols are very much a part of our daily lives.-the letters of the alphabet, numbers, names corporate and national emblems, and religious and secular rites, for instance. There seems to be an inherent propensity in humans to make them and use them. Some of the ancient geometric symbols addressed cosomogonical questions.

The circle for example, can represent space- not empty space, but space referred to in Genesis as "the
water of space".Beyond this is infinity, which cannot be expressed by  any form or shape.
The circle can be equated with the egg, a symbol in the cosmogony of every people, representing the entire
cosmic process by which worlds and non living beings are born. It contains the positive and negative forces which together produce manifested life.
When a cirle is shown as a spiral, it represents evolution, eternal change and growth. The circle with a horizontal diameter signifies divine Mother Nature. When the the horizontal line is crossed by a vertical line, we have the symbol of father Nature added, the two together forming a cross as representing the manifested universe. Generally a vertical line stands for spirit, and a horizontal line matter.
